Sustainability Initiatives

EXA is focused on building a sustainable future by incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its business practices. It is our social responsibility to build sustainable business practices.

At Diversified we understand that being a responsible and sustainable business is essential, and our actions and decisions have a significant impact on the world around us. That’s why we have committed to working with our visitors, exhibitors and stakeholders to consider the impact our industry has on the environment and society we work in. We are striving to operate with environment and social responsibility and our goal is to create a better future for our customers, ourselves and future generations.

While there are big challenges ahead of us, we understand that little steps can go a long way and every change can make a difference. Our sustainability journey includes initiatives across our events and the wider business, so please explore our efforts and see how we are making a positive impact.

Minimising Our Environmental Impact

  • We aim to reduce the number of printed signs and use digital signage where available
  • We aim to reuse or recycle all printed signage at the event
  • Water filling stations are available at our events and we encourage all attendees to bring reusable drinking bottles
  • All carpet, furniture and AV equipment provided by the organiser is hired and will be reused across multiple events before being disposed responsibly

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

  • We will turn off all electricity overnight
  • We will have separate waste bins, to encourage visitors to use appropriate bins for waste disposal
  • Where possible we divert waste into relevant waste streams away from landfill
  • All food waste and coffee grounds will be composted
  • Where possible food has been sourced using local food producers

Embracing Diversity & Supporting Our Local Communities

  • We track the diversity of our speakers and set goals to improve the thought leadership via Event Programming
  • Where possible, the PCEC and our event suppliers will utilise the services of first nations businesses to supply services in respect of the delivery of the event
  • We will partner with the venue to ensure any leftover food products will be donated to a food rescue organisation
  • PCEC is located in the ancient country of the Whadjuk Nyoongar people, who have been the traditional owners of the south west of Western Australia for at least 45,000 years. We acknowledge the people of the Whadjuk Nyoongar nation and pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
