Sonja is the Executive Director for Investment Attraction and Facilitation within Invest and Trade Western Australia. Key areas of focus for Sonja and her team include economic diversification, industry decarbonisation and facilitating investment into Western Australia in support of the State’s long-term economic development.

Sonja has over 20 years of global experience in economic development having previously held a range of Executive roles within the Victorian Government in Victoria, San Francisco and London before establishing The More Human Company.

Before returning to Australia, Sonja worked with Tech Nation in the UK to build their APAC Digital Trade Network supporting British tech companies to internationalise.

A strategic thinker and creative problem solver Sonja thrives on building relationships to contribute to the emerging opportunities through economic diversification.

Sonja holds a Master of Arts in Ecological Design Thinking from Plymouth University and Postgraduate Diploma in Information Management Systems from Glasgow Caledonian University.
