Simon Lane has been an active volunteer with the Perth Homeless Support Group since 2020 and joined the Board in 2023 where he is now its Chair.
After a 40 year in Corporate management he joined PHSG to ‘make a difference, without prejudice’, the PHSG motto.
PHSG operates two Outreach services per week and assists an average of 475 homeless people per week with groceries, fresh fruit, take away meals, toiletries and clothing as well as providing 100 hampers per month to needy families.
They rely on a group of 100 volunteers across each month and employ one full time person, trying to ensure that any financial donations are spent on direct assistance rather than overheads.
PHSG is seeking to do more and needs more help from Perth’s Corporate Sector.
