As AI systems move from experimentation into everyday operations, their role within critical infrastructure is changing in subtle but important ways. At the same time, governments are placing increasing emphasis on Sovereign AI, while energy systems themselves are becoming more digital, interconnected and data-driven. These shifts are often discussed separately: AI as a technology agenda, energy as an infrastructure challenge. This session explores what happens when those assumptions no longer hold, and why emerging dependencies between AI and energy systems are becoming a strategic issue for planners, operators and policymakers alike.
