D&I Breakfast Briefing Session

Mar 11 2026

8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

Join us for a Diversity & Inclusion session before day two kicks off for the exhibition. After the session, enjoy a grazing breakfast bar and continue networking as we explore the importance of diversity and inclusion in the energy industry.

Keynote: Cultural Intelligence in the Energy Transition: The Human Side of Change
As the energy industry transforms to meet ESG expectations and global decarbonisation targets, the hardest part isn’t technology or innovation, it’s buy in. This keynote reframes the “energy transition” as a human transition, showing how cultural intelligence (CQ) is now a critical leadership skill for navigating volatility, generational change, and competing values within diverse teams. When technology levels the playing field, culture becomes the true competitive edge and CQ is how leaders sharpen it.

Dr Tanya Finnie draws on decades of global experience across Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia to unpack how inclusion, when done well, drives innovation and safety rather than slowing it down. From onshore rigs to remote boardrooms, she explores how leaders can build trust across disciplines, identities, and worldviews to power sustainable collaboration.

Panel: Trust, Inclusion and Innovation in Australia’s Energy Future
This panel explores how inclusion, trust, and innovation intersect across Australia’s energy sector. Hear how leading organisations are embedding inclusive leadership and diverse thinking to create safer, more adaptive, and forward-looking workplaces.
