Steve Adam is a Technical Director, Electrical Practice Leader and Data Centre Market Lead for Western Australia and Northern Territory at Aurecon. With more than 20 years’ experience in building services engineering, Steve leads multidisciplinary teams delivering complex, high-reliability facilities across data centres, defence, transport and major commercial developments.

Recognised for his technical depth in power systems, resilient infrastructure and grid integration, Steve works at the intersection of digital infrastructure and the energy transition. He has led the design and advisory input on hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects, guiding clients through challenges including high-density AI loads, hybrid energy strategies, connection constraints and decarbonisation pathways.

Steve combines strong commercial acumen with engineering rigour, supporting clients from early strategy and feasibility through to delivery. He is particularly focused on positioning data centres as active participants in the energy system, enabling smarter integration of renewables, storage and flexible demand.

A regular contributor to industry forums, Steve brings a practical, systems-level perspective to discussions on digital infrastructure, reliability and the future of energy in Australia.
