Hitoshi (Toshi) Nishizawa

Toshi Nishizawa serves as the Senior Vice President of the LNG Division of JERA Co., Inc. where he oversees the origination and contractual management of long and mid-term LNG agreements. With over 30 years of experience at JERA (formerly Tokyo Electric Power Company, TEPCO), Toshi has been instrumental in leading significant LNG deals across all facets of the fuel value chain, including procurement origination, contract management, and upstream investment management.

Before returning to Tokyo to assume the role of Executive Officer for LNG Procurement in May 2019, Toshi was the founding Managing Director of JERA Australia and its affiliates in Perth. In this capacity, he led and managed JERA’s Australian LNG upstream companies and investments, including those in Wheatstone, Gorgon, Ichthys, and Darwin. Notably, two decades earlier, he began his journey in Perth, contributing to the start-up of the Darwin Project.

Nishizawa-san holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BA in Economics from the University of Tokyo. He is married and has a son who was born in Australia.
